Hello everyone,
I suspect this has been addressed but I'm at my wits end trying to sort through the forums and support documentation. I have two issues which could technically be two separate threads. In any case:
Question 1:
I'm running MSFS 2020 and the Carenado Mooney M20R Ovation. I would like to have the GNSXi run in a standalone window as I have touch screen monitors for my main panel. So essentially, it will simply reside on a touchscreen monitor and I can interact with it nearly identically to the actual unit. However, when I load the M20, the GTN goes into "Gauge Mode". I have tried to pop it out with the R ALT plus LMB technique but it either clicks through the unit and a Garmin 530 window pops up -OR- it appears to open a window but the window remains blank.
When I use the GNS in MSFS default aircraft, I can run the configuration program and create windowed versions of either the 750 or the 650. How do I get this thing to act as a standalone windowed navigator with the Mooney? In other words, I don't want it to run in gauge mode.
Question 2: When operating the GTN with other aircraft as a popout window, it works fine however, when I select NAV mode to GPS and couple it to the autopilot, the autopilot shows engaged, altitude will capture, etc, but when selecting NAV, the autopilot connects to whatever was in the flight plan on the sim nav system, not what I programmed in the GNS. If I link the GNS to the heading bug in the configuration app, this sort of solves it but the hedading algorithm is too slow to respond and doesnt' work like a true GPS nav system. I need to get the autopilot to link to the GPS flight plan and not the FS nav system. Does anyone here have any advice regarding this issue?
Any help or direction to other threads is appreciated.
Dave

Hi. I have many aircraft including the black square analog, c414, Maviz 310 .... I am facing serious issues with the 750nxi that made me just delete it.
The GPS does not work on most aircraft and conflicts with gnx 430/530 and in some aircraft the Vloc1/GPS flickers. In some aircraft, two units do not sync .... have also PMS 750 which is working well.
I tried removing the PMS 750 as I have them both but still, the nxi does not work well. My conclusion is the NXi 750 is just buggy unless there is a clear fix.
Also, why do you still recommend disabling hardware acceleration? do you know what that means if you have RTX 4090?
My main issue now is the GPS navigation. you plan your flight and the GPS does not control the aircraft. Keeps going straight spoiling the entire experience.
Appreciate the help to solve the issues.
Regards.

Vertical guidance (glideslope) |

I purchased the TDS GTN 750/650 for use in MSFS2020 using Justflight Piper Warrior. While I love the product, it is difficult to practice LPV approaches with no vertical guidance. After searching the forums, it seems this is a planned integration in the future. Is there an update on the status of being able to receive glideslope indications on LPV approaches?

GTNXi keeps closing |

I recently updated to 1.0.2.4 and trainer 3.3.1.0. Ever since, the program closes after around a minute.
I've tried multiple aircraft in the sim, and it works fine for a minute, then closes. The same happens if I open it by itself on the desktop. It works fine for a minute, then just closes.
I can open it again (both in sim and desktop), and it works fine for another minute before closing.
Any help to fix this would be appreciated.

Flight Plan Location V1.0.2.4 |

I just purchased V1.0.2.4 and already have a couple of questions. First, where are the flight plans REALLY filed? Page 18 of the manual says they are in the C:\ProgramData\TDS\GTNXi\FPL folder. Sorry, but not on my system. I have four flight plans built and the FPL file shows empty. MSFS has been restarted, the system has even been rebooted. I have looked several places and have not found them. See attached, upper part. Please assist.
The second question refers to the import of external flight plans. Per page 18 again, it indicates that you should go to the Flight Plan button, then to the menu and select the Menu key and an Import button will appear. Sorry, but I am not seeing that Import button. Would you kindly instruct me on how to import a flight plan, or am I missing something?
So far, I am loving having the Garmin based GPS back in the cockpit and hope that we can have it in many more birds. I have only tested it in the MilViz Cessna 310R and the Just Flight Turbo Arrow IV and both have been great. However, page 18 of the manual has me baffled.
Thanks,
