  Estimate for glide path/CDI interaction
Posted by: ryanbatc - 06-16-2021, 12:17 AM - Forum: TDS GTNXi Flight Simulator - Replies (1)

Do you think we'll be able to have CDI deviation and GS markers for RNAV(GPS) approaches with LPV mins?

It's one thing to have the AP fly a magical vertical track...but I'd rather hand fly a lot of this stuff.  I'm having to shoot my RNAV approaches to LNAV mins.

  Flightplan Problem
Posted by: tailgunnerjack - 06-15-2021, 09:11 AM - Forum: TDS GTNXi Flight Simulator - Replies (4)

Next problem:

GTNXi won't let put in a flightplan. It crashes have way thru. I works if I insert the plan thru MSFS.

I've read the documentation! I rebooted several times. Didn't work.

Will GTNXi accept flightplans from other sources? I didn't see that in the doc's

Thank again

  Dimming
Posted by: Crocodoc - 06-14-2021, 11:17 PM - Forum: TDS GTNXi Flight Simulator - Replies (6)

Would it be possible to add a hidden spot (the data card slot for example) to dim the screen? I know that you can adjust the backlighting via the setup page, but a hidden 'scroll spot' would be handy. I found that during dusk / dawn the unit is very bright compared to the rest of the panel in the VC.
Or, maybe even better, automatic dimming depending on the light conditions, but I guess this will be hard to accomplish.

  GTNXI Trainer
Posted by: tailgunnerjack - 06-14-2021, 07:39 AM - Forum: TDS GTNXi Flight Simulator - Replies (5)

After getting thru two hours of Windows telling this program is not safe I finally have it downloaded. Now the GTNXI Pc Trainer lets me know it will take over two hours to download. OK so I start the download and after a half hour (3 times) it crashes and stops downloading. After 51/2 hours total I've got nothing for the $50.00 I spent. Can you help? I'm not happy right now.

  Button Configuration via Spad.Next

I got my RSG unit working via SPAD.neXt...  if you use other software then this will work for you..
If you use RSG software only then they did post the command mapping in their discord but you will see the commands here as well to change in your command mapping file..

  Flight Pauses in map mode
Posted by: Savo70 - 06-13-2021, 10:41 AM - Forum: TDS GTNXi Flight Simulator - Replies (13)

Ive been having sporadic times that the position of the plane pauses when in map mode, everthing appears to work but the plane remains stationary on the map and doesn't move. the only solution ive found is to close it down and reopen the program, has this been reported as a problem in the past.

  First Impressions Video
Posted by: LesOReilly - 06-12-2021, 07:27 PM - Forum: TDS GTNXi Flight Simulator - No Replies

I did a first impressions video that runs through using the GTNXi with the SR22 in MSFS.

There are definitely some things required to be able to stop using my P3D setup for proficiency...  Most of these items are Known to TDS and I am not harping on it.

The most obvious item is getting the GPS course and the Glide Path data into the sim.  Without it the Flight Director can't be flown in Approach mode and the PFD/AP modes are not matching what stage of flight you really are in... ie Pitch Mode when should be GPS on the Approach and the GP does not annunciate and instead you get the white GS that will never Register as captured.  Plane flies down on Autopilot but... well you get the point.  Looking forward to see this product Grow if you can get the support from Asobo to give you the hooks you need.

  Installation Hickup
Posted by: LesOReilly - 06-12-2021, 06:49 PM - Forum: TDS GTNXi Flight Simulator - Replies (1)

Hi,

When installing the GTNXi from the manager I ran into a bit of an "issue" and I wanted to share it with you so you can add it to the FAQ Smile

If you have the Garmin Trainer already installed on your computer (as I did) the Manager will see it and believe that it is installed and offers the Re-install..

After you install the TDS Application and it launches it will complain about not having access to the Trainer.  This is due to the fact that they NXi versions are not installed inside of the Garmin Trainer software.  I was using the trainer with the Non-Xi version and with the 375 (hey would be great if you enabled that unit as well  Big Grin ) so the check does see the garmin trainer but I had to manually add the NXi from the Garmin Launcher...

I am sure that if I ran the Re-install from the TDS manager that would have worked as well... but thought I would share..

Les
