  Flight Plan Location V1.0.2.4
Posted by: 153FR - 03-06-2023, 12:52 AM - Forum: TDS GTNXi Flight Simulator - Replies (3)

I just purchased V1.0.2.4 and already have a couple of questions.  First, where are the flight plans REALLY filed?  Page 18 of the manual says they are in the C:\ProgramData\TDS\GTNXi\FPL folder.  Sorry, but not on my system.  I have four flight plans built and the FPL file shows empty. MSFS has been restarted, the system has even been rebooted. I have looked several places and have not found them. See attached, upper part. Please assist.

The second question refers to the import of external flight plans.  Per page 18 again, it indicates that you should go to the Flight Plan button, then to the menu and select the Menu key and an Import button will appear.  Sorry, but I am not seeing that Import button.  Would you kindly instruct me on how to import a flight plan, or am I missing something?

So far, I am loving having the Garmin based GPS back in the cockpit and hope that we can have it in many more birds. I have only tested it in the MilViz Cessna 310R and the Just Flight Turbo Arrow IV and both have been great. However, page 18 of the manual has me baffled.

Thanks,

  TDS and WT compatability
Posted by: niklaskull - 03-01-2023, 12:45 AM - Forum: TDS GTNXi Flight Simulator - Replies (6)

Hello!

Since MSFS integrated Working Title as the default gps my TDS setup has broke. (the way I see it atleast)
Previously I ran TDS outside of MSFS and the flight plan I entered in the TDS GTN750 or 650 replicated on the default Garmin 530 (pre WT)
Then I could fly and track a flightplan with for example PMDG dc6 which had the default gps.

Then MSFS changed the default gps to the very beautiful and more complex 530 or 430 by WT.
Now I can no longer via TDS GTN750 control the default MSFS gps and have an aircraft track a flightplan.

Perhaps I missed a step or something changed that I'm not aware of. But I atleast have the latest version of TDS 1.0.2.3.
Could someone enlighten me as to how I can get back to using TDS GTN (outside of MSFS, dont need to be integrated a aircrafts panel, I just run it on a seperate monitor.) to manipulate and follow a flight plan in an aircraft that has the default msfs gps installed.

Sorry for ranting a bit here, I'm a bit tired when writing this post but hope I made my problem understood and that someone can help me.

Thanks! Smile

/Niklas

Autopilot for Orbx Caribou - msfs UD 12

This is a wonderful old aircraft - but never had an autopilot aand those of us who are old enough to
remember the days of steam - happily go along with it

However - many don't and a very quick addon recently appeared on fs .To
Microsoft Local Legends DHC-4 Caribou Autopilot Addon » Microsoft Flight Simulator
which is for the pay ware PMS 750

I have tied it with my XI and of course it is not there so
any chance that we can have something similiar in out 750 XI ?

  Maybe an Old Question, But...
Posted by: Florida1146 - 02-26-2023, 07:46 PM - Forum: TDS GTNXi Flight Simulator - Replies (8)

I just started using the GTNXi on the Black Square King Air, and immediately found out that the date and time shown on-screen is NOT the actual date/time. My computer is up-to-date and the date and time are correct, and so is FS, so that wouldn't cause it. Last night, which was 2/25/23, the date and time on the unit showed 2/21/23 and the time was way off. I know the Navigraph charts are old and fixed, but are the time and date also going to be wrong?

Or is there a way to set them? That choice is non-clickable in the sim.

UPDATE: I am running the current version. in running the set-up, I noticed that the time and date were correct. This is without the sim running. I was thinking that another thread advised anyone running the WT 530 to remove/uninstall it, so I went and checked to see if it was in my system. It's not there, so I am wondering what could cause the date to be off when the sim is live. I'll do anther run and post my results.

  First run error after installation
Posted by: Lycal - 02-24-2023, 05:30 PM - Forum: TDS GTNXi Flight Simulator - Replies (5)

Hi,

I've just purchased and installed the program, following the installation instructions.

When either starting the standalone program, or running FS2020 I get a lot of error messages saying:

"Error: LoadLibrary failed to load <filename>. GetLastError: 126"

Examples of filenames are:

iop_c.dll
iop_d.dll
iop_com.dll
iop_nav.dll
prx_main.dll

My gaming PC is brand new, has over 1TB free on each of its drives.

I installed software to default locations.

Appreciate any help.
Thanks.
Cal

  Button Box
Posted by: Scorch - 02-21-2023, 07:50 AM - Forum: TDS GTNXi Flight Simulator - Replies (2)

Hello all.  I'm very much enjoying the TDS GTNXi units!  The next step is to build a "button box" for them.  This will be my first.  Has anyone done this and would be willing to share their knowledge?  I'm very curious about your choice for buttons and especially rotary encoders.

Thanks!

  Pre-purchase questions
Posted by: Scorch - 02-20-2023, 05:47 AM - Forum: TDS GTNXi Flight Simulator - Replies (1)

Hello all.  I'm considering purchasing the product.  I only have the standard edition of the sim, so the two planes I like to fly are the Just Flight Arrows and the Carenado M20R.  Can I reasonably expect the product to function as advertised?  The WT GNS 530 has proven to be a problem.  It has been removed from my install.  The old 530 does appear to work, but I'd like a better GPS.  How's the performance?  I'm seeing a few threads about performance concerns.  I've already applied two of the three performance improvement suggestions.  The one I don't have implemented is in the sim itself in the options menu of the dev mode.  I'm guessing it's because I don't yet have the product installed.

What is the purpose of the dial at the upper left and lower right of the unit?  I'm curious if I can operate it without using the "touch screen".

Thanks all!

EDIT:
After struggling with the default 530 and a 530 mod, I'd had enough and pulled the trigger. First impressions are I very much enjoy the product. So far, it's performing as expected.

GPS ETE = GPS WP ETE
Posted by: leroylockwood - 02-20-2023, 04:57 AM - Forum: TDS GTNXi Flight Simulator - Replies (2)

I'm not sure if this is a TDS issue or Flysimware issue but will appreciate any help I you can provide.

Just purchased the C414 and TDS GTNXi and am very impressed with the quality of both.

It appears that in SIMCONNECT, GPS ETE which should return the number of seconds to DESTINATION is returning the number of seconds to the next WAYPOINT which is the same value as GPS WP ETE, as viewed in Spad.Next.  I would like to know if there is a way to obtain TIME TO DESTINATION any other way.
Thank you very much.

Leroy
