TDS triggering Windows Defender high CPU process
#1
Good evening,

I have searched forums and nothing helped. I have added exceptions for MSFS, TDS, trainer and everything else as per forum posts, but Windows Defender still clogs the CPU as soon as GTN is running in any plane. If I disable real time protection, it works fine, but then I am not protected.

Hello,

Can you please show us a screenshot of the exception list inside Windows Defender?

Funny enough, as soon as I turn off avionics switch, GTN turns off and Defender stops its thing.

Hello,

Unfortunately the exclusions are entered incorrectly, hence the continuous problems that you are experiencing. They must be set as a "process" with only the file name.
We have a link as well as a video showing how to properly add them:

http://forum.tdssim.com/thread-210.html

The two processes that must be excluded are:
gtn_simulator.exe
FlightSimulator.exe

Please make sure to properly follow the instructions from the link above and all will be fine.
Good luck and please let us know how it goes.
