VNAV with RSG GTN750 and GFC500?
#1
I shot an non precision RNAV approach with step downs, using the GTN 750 Xi (with Real Sim Gears 750 hardware and GFC 500 autopilot hardware. This is XPlane 12, latest version, on Windows.
I was in Approach mode. The lateral guidance was followed and the unit enunciated vertical track, but did not do any vertical navigation. I had set the next step down altitude on the altitude bug. I could not activate the VNAV button on the GFC either. However, V.S speed mode worked.
Is this a limitation of the underlying autopilot in XPlane 12? Any work arounds?

Hello,

At this moment VNAV is not currently integrated with the GFC500 autopilot. It will require work and possibly collaboration between the companies. It is on our to do list, for the future. In the meantime we suggest that you utilize APR mode when the glidepath will become alive and use the VNAV function of the TDS GTNX, with the VSR (vertical speed required) display as advisory with the autopilot's vertical speed mode.
