A Liitle help on Trainer
#1
Hi Folks,
Real quiick quesiton.

Prob : TDS / Garmin Aviation Trainer will not install / Reinstall.

Desc: I recently upgraded my M.2 drive for FS2024, and reinstalling my add ons.

Trying to reinstall the trainers gives the attached error.
I have uninstalled, there is no reference to the trainer in the windows menu, nor iin  " Add Remove" programs.
I have also cleaned the registry with CC Cleaner,
Manually searched and deleted all TDS / Garmin references from the registry, and then pruned all orphan Dll's.

Each time I download and try to reinstall the trainer I get the rror below.
Any suggestions would be greatrly appreciated,
Many thanks,

Darkstar .

Hello Darkstar,

This is indeed a registry error, please do not attempt any installations, but clear out all "Garmin" references from the registry, by searching, from here:

Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Dependencies

Then the PC Trainer should install properly. Please let us know how it goes.

Hi thank you for the reply.

I have cleaned the registry of just about everything I can find Garmin related.
I have also deleted all TDS related data that I can see in the %appdata% path , both local and roaming.
I still have the same issue.

Interesting that when I download a clean copy of the installer, it automatically inserts my login details, so there is something left over from the previous install, but I cannot see where it is.  It also states that software is "partly installed" , even though uninstalled.

Screenshot below, after cleaning and downloading the installer fresh.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Darkstar.

Hello Darkstar,

Unfortunately it seems that clearing the registry was not done properly, as the issue will go away ONLY if the registry is cleared properly.
We suggest searching for the single word "Garmin" in the registry: Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Dependencies

And deleting all entries, then reboot the PC and perform the same search. Most likely you are starting the search from somewhere in the middle of the same dependency folder.

Please let us know how it goes.
