Missing RNAV approaches
#1
Good day,

After the Navigraph update it appears that I am missing approaches from certain airports. All of the approaches seem to have one thing in common - they include RF legs within the approach. I have tried to re-install the Garmin trainer as well as the TDS software.

Examples are but not limited to:
KCRP - RNAV(RNP)-Z Runway 31
KABQ - RNAV(RNP)-Z Runway 03
KLAS - RNAV(RNP)- Runway 26L
KJAC - RNAV(RNP)-X Runway 19
KJAC - RNAV(RNP)-Y Runway 19

Example screen shot of missing at KCRP can be viewed here

Hello,

We have looked into this request and these approaches are not missing from the TDS GTNXi Navigraph database, but this is by design.
At TDS Sim Software, we strive for realism, thus we simulate the TDS GTNXi Pro exactly as it is in real life, so whatever you would see in the TDS GTNXi Pro you would see in the real unit.

By checking the appropriate approach plate, you will see the syntax "AUTHORIZATION REQUIRED" on the top portion of the approach plate.
The TDS GTNXi simulates and flies RF legs just fine and you will be able to find them in all other RNAV approaches, this is a hallmark of the TDS GTNXi and great care was taken when designing this feature.

The approaches mentioned have one item in common, they are Authorization Required (AR) approaches. Such approaches can not be flow by a real GTN Xi unit or most Garmin units such as a G1000NXi thus they are removed from the database. Only very recently, a few G3000/G5000 got a software upgrade for AR approaches, but this is not the case in the GTN Xi at this point, so we will simulate our unit accordingly.

I see, that makes sense.

Beautiful product the TDS team has created here, especially with the added ability to update via Navigraph.

Thank you!
