TDSGTNXiFlightSimEXE.exe
#1
Photo
Hi,

Since today, my antivirus (McAfee - up to date) detects a virus in this file : TDSGTNXiFlightSimEXE.exe

This file is deleted by McAfee each time I want to run it (name of the virus : Suspect!a7438dc210bf).

So, I can't use the GTNXi...

Is it a false positive ?

Thanks.

Regards.

Hello,

All TDS GTNXi products are thoroughly checked before release and they do not contain any viruses.
Because of the software anti piracy protection system, some antivirus programs detect our software as a virus, but this is a false positive.
This is described in detail in page 24 of the manual.

Can you set up a general antivirus folder exception, as described in the manual?

Hi,

The whitelisted TDSGTNXiFlightSimEXE.exe file is deleted at every full scan (in real time protection, no problem, the file is never deleted => McAfee ignores the excluded files when it proceeds to a automatic full scan).

So, I have to restore TDSGTNXiFlightSimEXE.exe after each automatic scan.

Your software is unusable because of that.

It is now, with the latest version of McAfee, impossible to whitelist an entire folder, but only files.

Please find a solution Smile

Thanks a lot.

Regards.

Hello,

We are actually working on a permanent solution on this matter, as soon as we have it implemented, we will post an announcement in this forum. We hope that it is a matter of days.

In the meantime, we have been able to recompile the GTNXi to be friendlier with the antivirus software, so if you are still having antivirus warnings, you can temporarily disable the antivirus and attempt a reinstall. But if there are no warnings, I would suggest leaving it as it is for a few days.
Do not worry, this will get resolved.

We have been able to implement a permanent fix for this issue, there is a new version of the TDS GTNXi: 1.0.0.3, please redownload it from the TDS GPS Manager, it should install and work well without any antivirus exceptions!
